Long haired hippies lying leisurely on the sand’, ‘slow music in the air’, ‘moon light parties filled with fun and frolic’, if your mental picture of Goa resonates with that, welcome to the Anjuna beach. Always famous for the hippie population, Anjuna Beach is your stop for a time filled with laziness in the sunshine and parties in the moonlight (probably the two important things hippies are famous for).
The second famous thing here, after the hippies, is the flea market on Wednesdays, a thing you can not afford to miss if you’re in Goa.

How you’ll get there: The easiest way to Anjuna is to board a bus from Panaji (18 kms) or Mapusa (8 kms), which will drop you near the beach.
What’s special here: Almost everything: Right from the beautiful palm trees on the beach to the fun filled night parties. The flea market is yet another attraction you wouldn’t want to miss.
Things to do: Explore the other side of the world. The hippies, the psychedelic music, the east meets west atmosphere, are all things you’ll not get any where else, so don’t miss the opportunity. Also, do visit the flea market where you can get anything from trinkets to used vehicles with clothes, swim wears and water sport gear in between. It’s a great place to buy souvenirs as well. The bathing is also a lot safer here than other beaches, so do take advantage of it.
Why you’ll not forget it: It’s your trip to the 1970’s without a time machine, and an unforgettable journey. Words wouldn’t suffice your experience, once you step on the Anjuna beach. See you there!
