Arambol is a beach that offers tranquility, relaxation and a solitary escape. Nestled in the northern part of Goa, this beach is all about taking it easy without any hustle and bustle of a tourist place. It might be a new discovery of the hippies, but it’s still a secluded place, except on Sundays, when the local people come here to enjoy. There is a hot water spring that gives way to a lake, which can be a perfect place to swim. There are also sports like paragliding, which might interest you.

How will you get here: There are frequent buses from Mapusa (30 kms) and Chopdem (12kms). The nearest train station is Pernem.

What’s special here: Miles and miles of beach that is still unspoilt. You can get away from the crowd and hide away in this beautiful beach surrounded by cliffs which wrap some of the most beautiful fresh water lakes. The village of arambol, that is basically a fishing village, is another treat. The villagers, who are warm and friendly, will further add joy to your already great trip.

Things to do: Get away from the noise and relax, swim in the fresh water lakes, explore the cliffs and the secret beaches they hide. Paragliding is another thing you might enjoy doing here. Enjoy food at the cafes and restaurants which offer Italian, Indian as well as Goan cuisine. Buy junk jewellery and other stuff from the street vendors. And on market days, you can take a boat from Arambol to Anjuna.

Why you’ll never forget it: Finding a secluded beach without any hotels or a resort around is as rare is finding a dodo. Arambol is such a beach which offers you a time to lighten up, lay back and enjoy.
