One of the least crowded beaches in Goa, Bogmalo beach is still a popular place for locals as well as tourists. Being the closest beach to the airport (4kms) this beach is easily accessible and offers a variety of interesting stuff to do once you get here. The world famous Goa Institute of diving is also a great attraction and a great place to try a little diving yourself. There are lots of eateries and cafes around the beach which offer a great variety of food, but the most dominant architecture is five star Oberoi resort, which is built near the sea and offers good food and great stay. The Bogmalo village is a fishing village and is mostly untouched by the modernization around the beach. You can also explore shipwrecks in the silt and explore the surrounding little islands.
How will you get here: A bus or taxi can be taken from Vasco, which is just 8 kms away. The airport is also nearby (4-5 kms) and a taxi can be hired from there. The nearest railway is Margao (25 kms). Bogmalo is also well connected with motorcycle taxis, if that’s what you like.
What’s special here: The beautiful islands Sao Jacinto and Chicalet have beautiful old cottages and church. The fishing village Bogmalo is a beautiful place to visit as well. The Goa institute of diving attracts people from all over the world and is a pride of Bogmalo. The shipwrecks in silt around the islands are also worth a visit.
Things to do: Indulge in the architectural beauty of the small village. Explore the islands and the village life there. Try out diving at The Goa institute of diving, which offers casual lessons to starters as well as open water diving lessons. Water sports are also available and are as good as on any other beach. Witness the shipwrecks in silt around the islands, which proves to be a great experience.
Why you’ll not forget it: The Bogmalo beach is for those, who have come to Goa for a quiet time to explore the nature, the country life and architecture rather than the wild parties and crazy night life. If water sports like diving, hiking on cliffs, exploring the place is your forte, then Bogmalo beach is the just right thing for you.
