With endless rows of foreigners lying on lounges tanning themselves, there’s no doubt, you’ve reached , the busiest and the most commercial beach in Goa. A hideout for hippies in the 60’s and 70’s, this beach is now a favourite spot of almost every one. It’s a safe place for swimming as well as many water sports. The beach is also a favourite spot for night parties but unlike Anjuna’s wild ones, the parties here are sober and tamed. There are plenty of reasons why this one is called the ‘queen’ of all the beaches.

How will you get here: The distance from Debolim airport is 48 kms and you can get pre paid taxis from there. The nearest railway station is Thivim (15 kms) and there are regular buses from that will drop you near Calangute beach goa. You can also get taxis or buses from Mapusa (9 kms) or Panaji (16 kms).

What’s special here: The nice long beach with golden sand, the safe water for swimming, water sports and mouth-watering food, all make Calangute beach a great place to unwind. You can lie and soak in some sun, taste the scrumptious dishes, enjoy water sports or take trips to different islands. At night, enjoy the drinks at the bars and attend some parties. For those having religious inclinations, the Calangute church is a beautiful and peaceful retreat.
